24/7 Support - Our carers and young people can contact a member of the fostering team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year for support.
Outreach Support - Every foster carer and foster child has a Fostering Support Worker, who will work alongside you every step of the way to support the relationship between both the carer and child or young person. Young people regularly spend time with this person, which can include weekend activities and weekday support.
Supervision - Regular supervision will be provided to foster carers from fully qualified and trained Link Social Workers.
Carer Team Meetings - These meetings allow foster carers the opportunity to discuss the needs of the children and young person with the service managers. It also gives carers the chance to discuss and share approaches they have found to be successful.
Carer Support Group - Over time, regular carer support group meetings allow for mutual support and sharing of experiences for all carers.
Training - We provide a comprehensive training programme which includes: Foundations for Fostering, Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA), Child Protection, Introduction to Social Pedagogy, First Aid, and Fire training. Other relevant training, in relation to documentation will be delivered and we also provide annual refresher trainings.
Health and Wellbeing - All children and young people will be supported by our intervention team. This team provides: psychological consultation, assessments, family support and interventions for young people.
Allowances & Fees to Foster - CFS provides allowances and fees to foster carers to meet the day to day cost associated with looking after a foster child or young person.
